The story
Copenhagen café culture since 1992
When Bankeråt opened in 1992, it changed café culture in Copenhagen. It quickly became home to free spirits, students, artists, musicians, neighbours and night owls.
For more than three decades, the bohemian interior, the colourful furniture, the candlelit corners and the mixed crowd have made Bankeråt a place you never quite forget.

A regular haunt for the whole city
Between Nørreport and the Lakes
We are on Ahlefeldtsgade by Israels Plads, a few minutes from Nørreport Station and Torvehallerne, and just 10 minutes from Nørrebro across Dronning Louises Bro. Since 1992 Bankeråt has been a regular haunt for people from all over the city, from the inner city to Nørrebro and Vesterbro.
